This is based on the game Faerytaleonline. A text RPG where you have to actually get born. This is all handled by players, you are given a queue to wait your turn to be assigned to a possible parent. I was bored and thus set up an Excel spreadsheet and started putting together information.
(All data as it was calculated 9/21/2009)
| | Pregnant Mothers | My Position in Birth Queue | Difference | Total Births | Birth Rate |
| 8/31/2009 | 4 | 219 | 0 | 0 | |
| 9/15/2009 | 3 | 155 | 64 | 64 | 4.2666667 |
| 9/17/2009 | 5 | 146 | 9 | 73 | 4.5 |
| 9/18/2009 | 2 | 140 | 6 | 79 | 6 |
| 9/19/2009 | 2 | 137 | 3 | 82 | 3 |
| 9/20/2009 | 4 | 133 | 4 | 86 | 4 |
| 9/21/2009 | 4 | 118 | 15 | 101 | 15 |
All this information is useless without some predictive data,
| Average Birthrate | 6.127777778 | 4.49724771 |
| Projected Time till Birth | 19 | 26 |
| Projected Birthday | 10/10/2009 | 10/17/2009 |
The reason for the two sets of results is that I used two possible methods. One based on the average birthrate, and another based on the Slope() function. Which one will be right? probably neither since every time I update the information things change.
But as I said, I was bored.
